| # | Name | Company | Net worth | Age | Country |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Clemente Del Vecchio | EssilorLuxottica | $6.8B | 21 | Italy |
| 2 | Luca Del Vecchio | EssilorLuxottica | $6.8B | 24 | Italy |
| 3 | Johannes von Baumbach | Boehringer Ingelheim | $6.6B | 20 | Germany |
| 4 | Franz von Baumbach | Boehringer Ingelheim | $6.6B | 24 | Germany |
| 5 | Katharina von Baumbach | Boehringer Ingelheim | $6.6B | 26 | Germany |
Most under-30 billionaires did not build the company their fortune came from. The EssilorLuxottica and Boehringer Ingelheim heirs alone account for $33.4B of the list β roughly a third of the entire cohortβs combined net worth, held by five people.
Germany and Italy are overrepresented for the same reason: both have large private family companies that pass down intact rather than going public and diluting. That is a structural difference from the US, where under-30 wealth is far more likely to be equity in a company the person founded.
The self-made half of the list is remarkably narrow. Each one built in artificial intelligence β Scale AI, Cursor, Mercor, Lovable β or in prediction markets, namely Kalshi and Polymarket. There are no under-30 billionaires in this cohort from consumer apps, e-commerce, crypto exchanges, or social media, categories that produced young billionaires in every prior cycle.
That concentration says something about where value accrued between 2023 and 2026: foundation-model tooling and the infrastructure around it compressed the time from founding to billion-dollar valuation more than any category since early social.
Clemente Del Vecchio, at $6.8B. He and his brother Luca each hold an equal stake in EssilorLuxottica, the Italian eyewear group behind Ray-Ban and Oakley, inherited from their father Leonardo Del Vecchio.
Johannes von Baumbach, age 20, an heir to the German pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim, with a net worth of $6.6B.

No. The majority of under-30 billionaires inherited their wealth. Self-made members of the list are a minority, and every one of them built in AI or prediction markets.
