Pulse tracked roughly $18.8 billion moving into AI physical infrastructure this week across three deals: Valar Atomics' $1 billion nuclear-reactor raise, Base Power's $1 billion grid-battery round, and Tesla and SpaceX's $16.8 billion first-phase Terafab chip plant, as detailed in Pulse's earlier tally. Lumilens' emergence from stealth with more than $700 million in new funding -- covered separately in today's lead story -- adds a fourth category to that list: optical networking, the interconnects that move data between the chips the other three deals are trying to build, power and manufacture.
