About this dataset — methodology & sources
This dashboard analyzes the 500 largest startup exits since 2000 — every company founded in or after 2000 that reached a liquidity event through an IPO, acquisition, SPAC merger, or direct listing. Combined, these companies represent $10.5 trillion in 2026 enterprise value across 252 IPOs, 208 acquisitions, 36 SPAC mergers, 21 industry sectors, and 37 countries.
Each company is tracked across 22 fields including founding year, exit year and type, acquirer, valuation at liquidity, current 2026 valuation, total equity raised, last private valuation, notable early and late-stage investors, founding team size, and derived metrics such as years-to-exit and capital efficiency multiple. The 20 sections below break this down by power-law concentration, founding vintage, sector, geography, business model, investor track record, and private-to-public markup.
